A for ACROSTICS...

A challenge with aura
Calling for skill authentic
Requiring ability of writer
Opting without much ado
Sewing words to words
Themes that are great
It spares no ennui
Creating verses, some archaic
Spreading cheers and joys

B for BREAKOFF

Bitterness hurts like crazy
Rending the heart sorely
Even amends are scanty
Against hurts hurled plenty
Knowing him rather fully
Oblivious to pains scary
Forgetting him is really
Frightfully the only way

Meld

Two hearts meld
Two minds meld
Two souls meld
Nature and man meld
And it’s perfect!

Like a butterfly
That sips the nectar
Of a beautiful flower

Like the waves
That keep breaking
On the seashore

Like the waterfall
That runs down
In the deep abyss

Like the bird
That sings tunes
Pleasant to ears

Like summer
That brings flowers
To beautiful bloom

Like autumn
That makes the trees
Look lifeless

Like spring
That shows the birth
Of a new beginning

Like winter
That hides the beauty
Of the earth

Comfortable abode
On the outskirts
Turning  mind away from

Tom and Jerry

Trying to be in
On all things that
My kids truly enjoy

And I will sit
Nothing to worry and
Dwell, bond with them

"Just sit, have fun"
Each will tell me
"Relax, laugh with us
Rest you deserve much
You watch cartoons Mom"

Sitting Duck

Sometimes
In unguarded
Tawdry situations
Thieves
Instantly
Notice
Glittering jewels

Don’t invite
Unwelcome attention in
Crowded places
Known to thieves

Couch Potato

Chips and soda
On hands
Utterly lethargic
Calmly resting
Hating activity

Painful back
Obese beyond limit
Too lazy to move
Addicted to tube
Till wee hours
Of the morning

Airhead

At times
I feel like one
Regaling in foolish thoughts
Hardly thinking right
Engaged ever in idealism
At times dispirited
Dreams wistfully

Yes, I am not a hypocrite and honestly speaking, I am sometimes an airhead. I am at times silly, stupid, but I try hard not to end up real nonsensical.

Up for Grabs

Unwanted pet
Pleading attention

Free, get it
Or it gets killed
Right now

Grab if you want
Rascal it looks
Afflicted with lice
Bet you’d like
Such a bitch

Some notes on this acrostic:

Thing is, I hate dogs. I don't even have one. But neighbor's dogs love to lounge in our porch/veranda. I hate it! They even try to pee and all? Gosh! I wish I could kill them, then I'd be a criminal on the loose? Scot free? Lols! This idea came in mind I want them Up for Grabs as if I own them... :D Oh, but the pic in here? The dog looks lovey-dovey... :P

T'was written in the stars......

My fate is written in the stars. Like a rainbow, it comes in different hues. We did not plan what we might become but it is God's omniscient knowledge that did plan it all. At times we may question Him, but who are we to question His omnipotence?

Your fate is not my fate. You may be lucky while I am unfortunate. Or it may be the other way around. Whatever it is, we cannot question God.

Some say it is us who make our future. Others say it is etched in our palms. Still others believe that it has something to do with our astrological or birth signs. What one believes is what one is guided with.

Undoubtedly, everyone wants a Utopian life, a bed of roses. But even a rose has thorns. The thorns are the spices in life. For every accidental prick, it may make us better or make us worse

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. These are the colors that make the rainbow beautiful. These also represent the colors in our life. Our basic instinct is to want a happy life, in bright yellow. We desire sunshine and total bliss, free from worries and wants.

Violet remains a sad color, we often wish not to have it. But through the years, the meaning of this color has metamorphosed. This color now represents women empowerment. But I am happy at the wonderful transformation of the new world that was male-dominated for a long time. Women are now equal to men in the workplace and in every sphere.

If I could only choose the right star that would reflect the color of the fate I want, I want a green and blue life. I want it green for green is life. It signifies growth, renewal, health and environment. For every violet interlude in my life, I want green to overcome it.

Vanity and all profaneness threaten my existence. I never wished a life of unhappiness and failures. For every moment that I am down, I want some blue in my life. I love its calming effect and soft attributes. It gives me peace of mind after a trying moment that tested my patience and kindness.

After all, we only crave for the good things in life. But there's no perfect life. And there's no perfect color in life. Combine some colors and what comes out is a beautiful rainbow. For life to be perfect, happy and well-lived, it must be rainbow-colored.

Like all others, I wish a beautiful rainbow in my life. And what’s in a rainbow? It makes us a hopeless romantic, a lover, a dreamer. Because we believe that our wish may come true when we see a rainbow in the sky. There’s also a promise that at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold. And my life's a rainbow, in beautiful, colorful hues. God is the wonderful artist and for every stroke of His brush is a unique creation.

WORLD ECONOMY

World is in chaos
Overtly suffering so much
Rising prices of commodities
Lesser supply, larger demand
Depression is beyond control

Excessive is money supply
Causing prices to soar
Our government must act
Now to banish hunger
On arresting economic plunge
Must relentlessly work to
Yield jobs for poor

MY SURVIVAL

My life’s a rainbow
Yes, in different hues

Some moments are sunshine
Utterly happy and jovial
Rainy, cloudy oft times
Vicious on many occasions
Immersing in uncontrollable tears
Vying for peace and quiet
Always wishing for everlasting
Love, care and attention

INHUMANITY

It maybe an assault
Neglect to poor people
Harm to the vulnerable
Unscrupulous acts of abusers
Maligning of innocent victims
And may go endless
No sane people want
It impairs our souls
Tells such intimidating tales
You truly would loathe

CHEMICAL WARFARE

Catastrophic is man's invention
Headed to barbaric use
Eventually bringing final destruction
Mad men letting gases
Instantly killing in thousands
Conscience, theirs is dead
Annihilation is their aim
Life is at stake

We should be vigilant
Alert to prevent devastation
Reach, create an advocacy
For abjuring toxic chemicals
Aiming for eternal safety
Renouncing this evil mode
Every nation must agree

TECHNOLOGY

Trick or treat
Everyone likes it
Comes in bundle
Harnessing men's ingenuity
Noble are intentions
Of making everyone's
Life much easier
Old and young
Great and small
You are one

HUMAN TORTURE

He was snatched
Unkindly, harshly treated
Mauled agonizingly endless
Asking, begging release
Nobody heard him

Torturers are beasts
On the prowl
Ruthlessly they relish
The beatings given
Until poor victim
Rendered to silence
Ends in death

SUICIDE BOMBERS

Subdued they look
Ulterior motive hidden
In misleading demeanors
Craving for extermination
Instant mass slaughter
Dying they thought
Ennobles true heroism

But they're indoctrinated
On false dogmas
Making them sacrifice
Both family, happiness
Even forsaking life
Resenting world order
Seeking total annihilation

POLICE BRUTALITY

Paid by government fairly
On services that will
Look after people's welfare
It's but disheartening, they're
Culprits of social unrest
Evils and multifarious brutalities

Beastly they have become
Ruthless and very abusive
Using their guns recklessly
Trying to threaten innocent
And helpless, poor victims
Like they are demigods
Insidiously clad in uniforms
To project deceptive power
You truly would despise

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Diminishing family values
Onerous life situations
Molesting mothers, children
Extinguishing family's happiness
Such sordid state
Threatening and disturbing
Immediate help needed
Compassion and kindness

Vile are culprits
Incarceration they deserve
Over aggressions committed
Lest they continue
Ensnaring innocent victims
Nefariously threatening them
Cursed be them
Every crime done
